About these checks
Where does the data come from?
Only from the Companies House public register (the Register of Overseas Entities), read through the official Companies House public data API, plus the entity IDs you give us. We do not contact entities or their owners.
Why does an overdue update statement matter for property?
Companies House guidance says that if an overseas entity does not file its update statement on time it is committing an offence, its overseas entity ID is not valid until it files, and it cannot buy, sell, transfer, lease or charge its UK land. Companies House also adds a note to the public register. Check the position for your transaction against HM Land Registry and Companies House guidance.
Can you tell whether a warning or penalty notice has been issued?
No. Companies House does not publish warning or penalty notices on the register. We show how long an update is overdue and explain the published enforcement process, but we cannot confirm whether a notice has been sent.
Could the register be out of date?
Yes. A statement filed very recently may take time to appear, and the register's own overdue flag can lag the due date. We show both the due date and the register flag. A check is a snapshot of the register at that moment and is not legal advice.
Do you file update statements?
No. ROE Overdue Watch only reports what the register shows. Update statements are filed with Companies House by the entity or its agent, and the information in them must be verified by a UK-regulated agent.
Where are monitoring alerts?
Alerts are stored in your account and can be downloaded as CSV. Nothing is emailed by the app.
